Is the feather loss from the back of his neck due to pecking before he got stuck? He sounds like he may have a neck injury or wry neck. Was he acting normally before this incident? Are there more roosters, and is he smaller than your other chickens? I would try to keep him calm and warm, and watch him closely. Do not handle him a lot. I am really sorry that he was injured, and hope that he recovers.
