I had 4 young chicks given to me and was told they are RIR and all pullets. I knew from day 1 that there was at least 1 rooster, my brother says they are all roosters and my Uncle says no way are they RIR, so please I need your help.

First one looks like a rooster with that tail but would have to see a side view to be positive, could be a pullet, second is rooster and the third one is a pullet.

Edited to add, Yes they are RIRs.

1. Could go either way, need a side view to tell for sure.
2. Definatly a roo, he has pointy hackle feathers.
3. A pullet. Her feathers are rounded.

Can't help with the breed, but they are either RIR or NHR.

EDIT: On closer examination, I think one is a roo too. I think I can see pointy feathers. Did you, or the person you bought them from, get them from a hatchery? If so, sexing is only 90%. For every 10 chicks you order, you should expect 1 roo. So even if you order pullets, that doesn't mean that's all you will get.

EDIT 2: I don't think they are sex links. Sex link roos are supposed to have alot of white in their feathers and the females are supposed to be mostly red. All of these are red.

I say sex-links. Two cockerels and a pullet! True Rhode island reds are so dark burgundy they are almost chocolate colored. (believe it or not)
