help sexing button quail and pic!

Although it's too early, thought I would show my babies at 2 weeks and three days.
I have a question too..can you clip the wings like you do a flighty chicken? For those of us that are keeping them in doors. Found out today, that they can fly! Fast little stinkers!
Here is my group..I see one is silver down the back. I'm wondering if it is going to be a silver-pied? I think?

I have three pictures of this little one..has white on it's neck, and up the sides..it was mostly black at hatching..just the white on it's neck showed, now it's on the chest.

I think silver is my favorite variety...it's definitely a toss-up between silver and blueface

The one with white on its neck is a blue face, the white signifies that it is double factor for blueface. It probably had yellow there when it was a baby but doesn't have to have had it. Could also be pied blueface though I doubt that since it doesn't seem to have any white on the wings.

The other 2 dark ones look like a wild (left) and a golden pearl (right), then of course you have 4 whites

One of your white ones seems to have a dark spot on its neck. Maybe a Splash?

hmm, didn't notice that, going to check that out now! Thanks all...I want to keep that silver..going to be pretty. I am really curious as to how that one with the white on it's neck is going to turn out. I'll take blue anything!

How exciting, I did not notice that! It does have black on the base of the back of it's neck, and, on the very top of it's head, it looks to have black and silver? Could that be right? Will be watching that one real close!

I had to share my experience of clipping button wings at the age of 2 and a half weeks. Not too bad with help of DH. Soo squirmy! Hard to hold for sure. It's hard to know how tight to hold them. But we did it, and I found out that having them right side up to cut the right wing was best, then turn them over belly up for the left wing was best. Should say, easier.
Those babies were hopping pretty high, but now using their wings, going through the top of the cage was going to happen soon. They were using those wings and getting up there pretty close. It was so different clipping such small wings. Seemed to help..now I can clean the cage from the top without worrying so much.

As I was holding the one with the black on the neck, looked for more black throughout feathers. Didn't see any. That's interesting. It does have black on the nape of the back of the neck, and then some goes up to the top of the head. Wonder if it will become more black.

In sexing quail of all types is it pretty safe to say that the females have speckles or barring on their chests while the males are bibbed or plain. Im new to quails but I considering getting a breeding pair since the county has told me I have to get rid of my chickens after telling me I could keep them if I built an aviary. Now I have this nice aviary but if the chickens go then it will be empty. If they chickens can stay will the quail and the chickens get along in the aviary together or will I need to create separate living areas?
