Hi im newBYC and need some help sexing my 1 day old sebastopol goslings , the photo is of 1 two week old and three day olds. I think the two week old is a girl and am thinking the very small one is a male as its so pale in colour! Any ideas most appreciated! Thank you

Hi many thanks, i am more confused about the 1st photo ive just added as i have read that females sebs have saddle shape and they both have so i thought they both girls where as the little photo had a very pale gosling which i assume is a boy?

My camera isnt very good i will use my daughters later to see if i can take better photo thank you

I would defiantly say that the dark one is a girl and the lightest one a boy. The one that's not real dark could be either one.

I know nothing of Sebastapol geese other than I wanted one and there were none to be found. So I got a Buff instead. I didn't know that they were hatched grey and yellow, I'm assuming when they have feathers they are completely white?

Hi yes my sebastapols are pure white some curly and some smooth brested, they are a lovely breed and we are lucky enough to have quite a few available in UK. They are yellow and grey or pale yellow when hatched and your supposef tobe able to tell sex by colour but mine have hatched mixed shades thus year.

Hi my daughter has taken some clearer photos see if they are any better?

I think the colours are much better as taken in natural light not sunlight.

Thank you for all your help !
