I have a broody hen who hatched 7 eggs from a mixed barnyard dozen. I ordered the dozen from a reputable farm that has purebreds, but the dozen I got is not from there carefully separated lines and breeds, so any autosexing down patterns are uncertain. I do know some of their partial genes based on what was written on their egg. They are 25 days old.

Chick 1:
Does have some Gold Laced Orpington, a light spot on its head, and the comb and waddles appear pink. It also has really big legs. Cockerel?

Chick 2: This one has some genetic from one of their auto-sexing lines. But again, isn’t pure. Hatched with all the markings of a cockerel, but is so pretty I’m hoping will be a pullet. Comb is fairly large and turning pink.

Chick 3: This one I already know is a cockerel lol! Look at that comb! Mostly here for reference.

Chick 4: Lastly, this little one who has some Double Silver Laced Barnevelder. I have two of these, this ones comb seems more pink than the other.

All 4 chicks pictured are cockerels (imo). All of their combs are huge. Even pullets of large combed breeds, like Leghorns, don’t develop big combs until they’re close to laying, they stay small and pale pink. Whilst 4’s comb isn’t huge, it’s still bigger than what a pullets would look like and the reddening isn’t helping him.

That’s where I’m at too. Wishfully hoping for everyone to contradict that but looks like I’ve got a bachelor pad on my hands lol. Thank you for your input!

Your chicks look like cockerels. I hope your exited to have all cockerels, if you have a hen you should breed them. I am very proud of my chickens. That includes 1 cockerel and 2 roosters with 5 pullets and 1 full grown hen. I have 3 eggs in the incubator. Love your chicks by the way, they are adorable:woot:love
