I have two chicks that are shrink wrapped. One has fully zipped and looks like its stuck in a rubber case and the other looks to be the same way... What do i do? Please help! Thank you!

For the one that is wrapped... Take a damp warm washcloth and wrap it around the chick with its' head out... Just a few minutes should be enough to get the mem off...

NEXT you have to get the humidity UP in your bator... Check the water, Get a sponge and set it in a dish.. Fill it with really warm water and put it in your bator..

Wipe down the inside walls of your bator with some warm water.. Also the room that you have the bator in, can you put a humidifier in it and shut it up? That will raise the RH in the room.

Get a cup of hot water. It will cool in time. Get some Q-tips, and carefully daub water on the membrane to wet and soften it. Using tweezers or fingernails very carefully, chip bits of shell away from where it has split. As you get to more membrane, if any bleeds, STOP immediately, put the egg & chick back into the incubator.

Once you get the membrane moist, you should be able to remove it from the chick.. You will need to put it DIRECTLY in the brooder under the heat lamp

They will be more than likely shrinkwrapped as well, but if you can get the humidity up in the bator that will soften the membrane.
