My pullet is about 6 months old and has been laying for a few weeks. She has had dark circles developing on her comb for a few weeks now as well, and now spots forming on her wattles. She is still laying about every other day, and doesn’t seem lethargic. She eats and drinks well. A few weeks ago she had a bit of a cough but that went away with some supportive care. The spots on her wattles are a newer development while the dark patches growing on her comb began small and have been growing in size for awhile.

I’m stumped. None of the other chickens in the flock have these spots. We have had hot weather for months so definitely not frost bite. What gives?

Treat with an anti fungal spray or cream. Someone else is going to pop in soon and give you further advice. What I would do is get a wide range anti fungal cream and use it until I see improvement, and five days afterwards, twice daily.
