Hi All! Hoping someone can help. I have a 3 1/2 month old hen who is on day 7 of Corid in her daily drinking water. We had 15 chickens and somehow one of them picked up the coccidia virus and we lost five chickens within 18 hours before we could identify what we thought the virus was. I got the chickens on Corid, however one hen was much much sicker than the rest. Three days ago she was acting great moving around and we finally let her outside to do free range again which seemed to really perk up her spirits. Last night however she’s very slow and sluggish and this morning when we checked her, her chest was huge very swollen like a bubble and when you massage her crop you can hear gas noises. I keep smelling her beak to see if it’s potentially sour crop, since she did go without eating a ton while she was super sick, and then went back to gorging herself. No smell. She will drink fluids, but has zero appetite. My initial thought is that her digestion just wasn’t ready to start eating fully yet and that the contents aren’t draining. I fed her a teaspoon of coconut oil and then massaged her crop, gave her an hour break and then did it again, but it still feels swollen like a big air bubble.

In a matter of 4 hours she’s gone from alert and able to walk out of her coop just fine, to lethargic, won’t walk, wobbles in one place with her wings drooped, or just completely laying down eyes closed barely able to lift her head. This is what her stool looks like:
