Help, Sick Chicken!!!

I have a young hen 10 mos. who has a swollen lower abdomen and is lethargic. Can any one please tell me what may be the cause? She is usually pretty rambunctious, so it was odd to see her like this. Her lower belly seems swollen and puffy.

I have also noticed that her butt right below her vent is yellow, like it is infected on the inside.

might want to look up eggbound here on the search engine, the yellow may be egg yolk or an infection if it smells. I have read to give them a warm bath to help relax the abdominal muscles to help move the egg along, this would help clean her up too. They also really like baths. If it is eggbound you have to act asap.

If you decide to soak her use nice warm water and let her soak for at least 30min. adding warm water as not to let her chill. Also using olive oil or vaseline on and in the vent could help, but the soak will help her relax and maybe help her pass the egg. Just inside the vent though don't go to far to not break the egg.
