As far as I have seen, His Vomit looks like a Milky Liquid & Somtimes In Clumpy Orange Piles, No Blood seen yet. Mom said we may get a Shot, But will that help? Charlie and the Other Dogs go into the chicken run, Yes they do eat the Chickie pooh, But now we wont let them into the pen because We got Honeybees.

If he already has parvo, it's too late to give him a shot. That's why they tell you to give them their shots BEFORE they get sick. You may want to vaccinate your other dogs though, although that may still be too late for them as well.

My moms dogs got parvo. She didnt get them shots

.She took them to vet and they made it 2 of her dogs had to be put on IVs and stay a few days at vets.. The vet bill was not pretty

It takes time for symptoms to develop. Your dog may have been infected 5 to 10 days before symptoms ever appear.





I'm sorry, I know this is distressing news, but that's why a parvo shot is so important.

I agree with the above poster. Parvo treatment will be extremely expensive, and even with it you

have a very good chance of loosing him. If the other dogs haven't had their shots either, they are

at risk of getting it.

Please get him to a vet!

Hi Nikky -

I agree, it is extremely important to get your pets vaccinated. There are inexpensive vets who go around to pet stores and/or feed stores to give shots - just check with your local animal control.

If Charlie is a year old, I doubt it is parvo. The most common symptom of parvo is bloody diarrhea, and it is a very common young puppy disease.

Vomiting is a symptom of almost anything and everything. How long has he been vomiting? What do you feed him? Bread is not going to help the situation if he has an upset tummy.

A trip to the vet is probably your best bet. I know it can get expensive, but if it is a serious illness, Charlie will suffer and I know you don't want that.

Do you have a thermometer? You can check his temperature that way. That will tell you if this is an infection or something else, no fever usually means no infection. A dog's normal temp is 100.5-102.5 -- anything above that is a fever. Try that and let us know.

Let's not leap onto the Parvo wagon yet. Parvo poop has a VERY distinctive odor. Not like regular runny poop. It's a certain stink that really makes your hair curl, much worse than the usual ick.

Vomiting and diarrhea? Could be a piece of bone, worm overload, rat poison, torsion, any number of things. I know money is tight, but get him to a vet. Many vets understand and will set up a payment plan. Call around and see, and do it right away. Until then, quarantine Charlie away from the other dogs and hose down everything with Lysol spray or some other disinfectant.

I cured a rescue pup of Parvo 2 years ago. Total cost was about $200.00. His brother never even got it. Both dogs are now about 70 pounds each and healthy little pigs.

I am not saying it isn't Parvo, just that it's too early to scare the OP with unfounded conclusions.

ETA, I used to work in a vet clinic in TX when there was a Parvo outbreak, just so you know I DO have some inkling of what I'm talking about.
