Help! sick rooster

By now he should be able to tolerate some coccidia in the environment. Usually only a sickly bird would have it at that age, but pictures can help to see if it is blood or intestinal shed. Corid is pretty harmless if you feel he needs it. Today is okay to continue the electrolytes. I would concentrate on wet chicken feed, and some cooked egg. The others are just suggestions if you have those. Ground or chopped meat with no salt, if you have a little leftover can be helpful to tempt them to eat.

I brought him outside for fresh air and then my broody hen came out of the barn and he perked up and peck at the ground. Can he be with chickens or should I keep him separate until he's all better so he doesn't spread whatever is wrong with him. I put corid in his water.

I always prefer to leave sick chickens with the others inside the coop if possible, since they will eat better and feel more comfortable. But since he has been separated, and sick acting, they may peck or attack him, so watch for that. A dog crate inside the coop with food and water is a good way to keep him there if they are pecking him. Use you own judgement, or let him have supervised visits with them daily.

I think I'll bring him up to see them and if their mean I'll bring his favorite hen down with him for awhile.
When he was at a show, last year (he's not show quality any more because of his age) he was there for three days and when I brought him back he and this hen diamond ran to each other. Seriously. Their bonded.

Last night he ate some grain and yogurt and drank water and I thought he was recovering but now he is laying in the ground barley breathing. I set up a heat lamp so he isn't cold and I brought his special hen down to see him. I really don't think he's going to make it . Is there anything I can do or should I just let him relax and keep him comfortable?

Also he seemed to be having vision porblems like he was pecking next to the tray or missing the peace of grain he was after last night and so I did more reading on mareks and found this:
"Lymphoid infiltration into eyes; causes change in iris color, pupil shape or size, partial or total blindness. Rare, occurs usually in older birds; mortality up to 25%.

Mareks can take different forms right? So it could be that he has the kind that is affecting his eyes?

He could have had this and I thought it was a crop impaction.

Sounds like either enteritis or mareks. If anymore get sick. LA 200 injections in the breast will help if enteritis.

I would just try to keep him comfortable at this point you have done everything you can

Many times crop issues are related to enteritis.
