Help! sick rooster

Sounds like either enteritis or mareks. If anymore get sick. LA 200 injections in the breast will help if enteritis.
Do you have a picture of the rooster?
No, I get go get one. He just laying there he put his legs out behind him and every so often he kind of shifts but it looks like hes stuggling to breath sometimes when do does it. Thanks, I'll do some research on enteritis.
I would just try to keep him comfortable at this point you have done everything you can
Ok, I just wish I could have done more for him.
Many times crop issues are related to enteritis.
ok

the enteritis symptoms don't match up with whats going on as much as the mareks ones do but its still possible.

I really think that I would make him comfortable and go from there. If he is suffering, I would let him go. Are you still thinking about a necropsy or have you called and found out how much they charge?

Mareks is a tragic disease. Getting a diagnosis would be helpful to know how to deal with this. There are 4 types of symptoms—the eye or ocular form, the skin form, the nerve form, and the visceral form that causes tumors in organs. Mareks causes weakened immunity to common diseases.

Since this is the second bird within a week that might have Mareks, you really should not take birds to shows. If you have Mareks, that may be where it came from, unfortunately.

If it’s mareks all you can do is try your best to keep your birds healthy as possible especially in times of stress. Weather changes, lots of rain, molting etc..
ok, I will try to do that.

He has a heat lamp and I just took some pictures which I will upload. I'm thinking about a necropsy...but I haven't called. Im just being with him and making him comfortable. His hen is with him. If I send him for a necropsy I wont get him back to bury him right? But its probably the best thing for the flock. I don't want him to end up in the trash somewhere because he was so special but also I guess once he dies it wont be him anymore it will just be his body. I haven't taken a bird to a show since September last year so, 13 months.
Im going to miss him a lot. and so is his hen diamond.

This is him, poor guy. And thats his hen in the background.

So sorry about your rooster. No you would not get the body back to bury him if you took him in for a necropsy. I would call and ask about prices for the necropsy, for testing for Mareks if they need to do that, and ask about driving the body in. They are only open M-F so you may want to get the details now before you need to act.

Ok. I can see about that, I wont be able to drive him in this afternoon if he dies. I think I could do it tomorrow though.
