I got this silkie about 2 and a half weeks ago and she had layed an egg in the shipping box, so i put it in there with her in there new home. Well the second say, the 7th she layed a second egg and she went broody. She is in a 2 by 4 foot coop with another silkie hen. The broody was just laying on the bottom of the cage with about 4 inches of bediing and i was told she will be fine. Well she has been weird lately and she kept gettting an egg out from underneath her about 3 times then it was squashed. Then she had one egg and sometime between yesterday and today she decided she didnt want to sit on the egg anymore and she left it sitting in the moddle of the floor. I am very upset but then when i picked her up i noticed that she has a swollen eye and all around it on one side and there looks to be rawness of the skin behind her eye. What should i do? Is it from the other one picking at her or is it from her being broody with a big crest and beard or what? I really want to fix this and i dont want her to be uncomfortable.
