Please help. I have a large run/coop that has 5 ducks and 6 chickens. My two female Muscovys are sitting on about 5 eggs (I took the rest away before they sat). I came home to one of the ducklings hatched and in the run with everyone else. This means it left the nesting box, hopped down a few feet. I can block the coop off from the rest of the run however there is no ramp to go back up to the nesting area. Should I put the duckling in a brooder by himself? Or should I leave him in the coop with the moms. My fears are him getting too lonely by himself or him getting down from the nesting area and getting too cold because the mothers won’t leave their eggs and he probably can’t get back up to them.

Hi, and :welcome !

Is there a way of making a temporary ramp and putting the duckling back in with the moms until the hatch finishes? Like that, if he gets out again, he can go back up.

Muscovy are usually wonderful moms, I'm surprised this little one got out.
