Just got home and saw my 9 week or so old Rhode island red with a bulging eye socket that looks like an infection maybe? Can anyone help diagnose and recommend any treatments?

I unfortunately dont have any way to do that until Monday when I get paid. Her eye didnt look foamy at all and I cant see much if any discharge coming from her eye. This could've started last night as I didnt get a good look at each bird when I let them out this morning. No nasal discharge that I can see. Thanks for the replys

with those telltale eye bubbles.
I don't see any bubbles?

What is that part I circled...looks like something in there but may just be out of focus?

Home made saline wash might be a good idea.
Boil water with so much salt(look up the ratio), let it cool,
then use something(needle-less syringe, ear bulb, eye dropper) to drip into eye to rinse it out.

I didnt notice anything wrong with the actual eye in person and ever since I was able to catch her to take these pictures I havent been able to get too close they are hiding under a brushy tree but I do know that i thought the eye looked fine. I'm thinking maybe she got stung by something? Also I have a 2 year old that is sneaky and not nice to animals that could have hit her with something lol. I will keep an eye one it no pun intended and if it starts to look bubbly or pussy then I will know it's an infection. Can I treat it with any antibiotics if it does turn out to be an infection? Something sold at tractor supply or Walmart would be great so I wouldn't have to wait for shipping

That looks like a bug sting to me. Just on the cheek maybe? My roo got stung last summer chasing a bald face hornet. Blew up just like that. He ate it anyway. ‍♀️

It took a few days for the swelling to go down. I did do a dab of triple antibiotic just incase.
Hope it’s nothing serious

Hopefully it's just a bug bite or from a peck, but I would watch it closely. The none swollen side, the eye looks a little sunken, but sometimes photos can make things look a little odd too. Is that a scab on her cheek? If you think it's from a bug bite, you could try a 1 time dose of Benadryl, for her size/age I would give 1/4 of a 25mg tablet.

If the swelling turns out to be from respiratory infection, then you can use an antibiotic like Tylan50, this can be found at most Tractor Supply stores. Dosage is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally 3 times a day for 5 days. Flush the eyes with saline, remove any pus/discharge.
