I'm (sort of) glad to hear that I wasn't the only one. Another poster wrote about it here as well, or I wouldn't have known.

I think the black pullets are black stars - at least one has obvious occasional brown feathers, and I think I've spotted brown on the other two. But they run around a lot, and it's hard to keep track of which one I've seen...
