Help - Stopped getting email subscription notifications - unsubscribing???

We've worked back with our technicians on a few of the examples and email addresses of members reporting problems (including Christie Rhae & BarnGoddess01) and here is the response:

So, this is where things get really tricky. Once an email leaves our system we have a lot less control over what happens to it.

We'll keep digging into this, but in the interim:

  1. Triple check your spam filters to make sure emails are not in there. Search for the email address [email protected]. Example, in gmail search: "from:[email protected]"
  2. Add the following address to your email address book (helps show you want the emails from this account): [email protected]
  3. Contact you email service provider and see if they can trace why emails from the address have not been delivered

I have checked both my gmail accounts. The notifications aren't going into the spam folder. (That has happened on occasion in the past so I have added BYC to my safe list.)

I have another email addy that I'm trying that isn't gmail. Change has been confirmed. I'll let you know if something gets through to it.

I am getting the following message from gmail:

Hey, this is important: We’re changing our privacy policy and terms of service.

Why am I seeing extra information next to the sender’s name?

Gmail believes that by adding more information about the origin of a message, you can be better informed about who sent the message and can avoid confusion. For example, if someone fakes a message from a sender that you trust, like your bank, you can use this information to see that the message is not really from your trusted sender. The information that we use to display this information is included in the message headers but these headers can be hard to understand. Gmail analyzes this information and displays it in a simple to read format.
Why am I seeing an email address next to the sender's name?

If the sender’s full email address is displayed, then Gmail thinks that you have not communicated with this sender in the past. If the email address is quite long, we'll show you a shortened version.
Once Gmail concludes that you communicate with this sender (for example, if you reply to emails from this sender, or if you add this sender to your address book) we’ll stop displaying their address next to their name.
Why am I seeing "via" followed by a domain1 name next to the sender's name?

Gmail detected that the email was sent via another mail service. This means that the sender may be using a third-party email service to generate this message. For example, the message may have been sent through a social networking site which offers an email service or sent through a mailing list that you’re subscribed to.
Gmail displays this information because many of the services that send emails on behalf of others don’t verify that the name that the sender gives matches that email address. We want to protect you against misleading messages from people pretending to be someone you know.
How can I remove the extra information next to the sender's name?

Once Gmail concludes that you communicate with this sender (for example, if you replied to emails from this sender, or if you add this sender to your address book) we’ll stop displaying the full email address.
However, if the sender sends the email through a third-party service or a mailing list we may continue to show ‘via’ followed by the service that sent the message.
I'm a sender and I don't want my recipients to see the "via" link. What can I do?

Gmail checks whether emails are correctly authenticated. If your messages are sent by a bulk mailing vendor or by third-party affiliates, please publish an SPF record2 that includes the IPs of the vendor or affiliates which send your messages. Or, you may consider signing your messages with a DKIM3 signature that is associated with your domain.
  1. domain: A domain is a name for an IP address and is more commonly recognized as a website or web address. For example, Google.com is a domain.
  2. SPF record: An SPF record is a list of IP addresses that are authorized to send mail for a particular domain. For more information on how to publish an SPF record, please visit http://www.openspf.org.
  3. DKIM: DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a way to digitally sign messages and verify that the messages were sent by a particular domain. It works like a wax seal on an envelope, preventing messages from being tampered with.

Don't know if this helps the techies or not .... " via jangomail.com" appears next to [email protected]

Let me add my issue to this thread real quick..

I get notifications from all the new threads I subscribe to, but not the old ones I used to.

Specifically my favorite thread I frequent a LOT I get some notifications but not others. It's weird.

OR I'll get a notification but it's a hour later.

Just FYI! I'm dealing with it though! LOL. Just a lot of "refreshing" going on.

Still not getting any notifications using a non-web based, non-gmail addy. Absolutely SURE the emails aren't getting to me (not in spam or junk - and I get LOADS on this addy) so I'm not sure what more I can do ...

It's really odd because we know that the emails are being sent out to you guys (we checked your specific email accounts and saw the emails that went out), so for some reason they are being lost or blocked after they leave our server.

I guess add me to that list of people not getting notifications. I am working through Mozilla and Firefox. Firefox just went through a rev bump. Which failed on my end MY bad. I am going to go and do the upgrade through the website hopefully that will help my browser issues.

Add me to the list, too. Some days are good, and I get posts, and then there are days like today with nary an email from BYC, yet I log in and there's 5 new pages of posts on a thread I'm subscribed to. Nothing in my spam folder that shouldn't be in there.

At this point, Emails have arrived to my non-gmail (non-web based) account to threads I've re-subscribed. Nothing coming unless I re-subscribe. I have subscribed to a new thread as well but so far, no activity on that one. I'll keep you posted ...
