Help! Swelling around eyes & weak

I appreciate everyone’s advice & thoughts. After doing research for 2 days straight- I believe he probably has a bacterial infection from parasites. I did bathe him again, have yet to find my Vetericyn, so I may have to run out & buy some. I’ve called all 4 of our local farm stores. None carry Baytril which after much research I believe would be best antibiotic since it’s treats both kinds of bacterial infections. Problem is looks like I’ll have to order it. I have fish mox (500 mg capsules) I’m pretty sure based on other posts I’ve been way under dosing so it’s not helping at all.
If I can’t get baytril anywhere & have to use the fish mox, I’m not sure how to give him an appropriate dosage, he’s tiny still not at his full weight, I’m pretty sure even though he’s eating the infection is causing more weight loss.
You will have to order Baytril online. https://allbirdproducts.com/products/baytril-10

As for the Amoxicillin - get his weight. Dosage is 57mg per pound of weight given 2 times a day.

Dump out your capsule and mix it with a "known" amount of something.
For example - if you mixed 500mg of Amoxicillin with 1 teaspoon of yogurt or liverwurst, if you divided that into 4 equal "parts" that will get you really close to 125mg per 1/4 teaspoon. Make sense?

What are you feeding him? I would feed chick starter or an all flock feed. Get him on some poultry vitamins for a week too. Egg, meat or fish as a treat.

Some people here on BYC have good luck trying to contact a poultry vet or specialist when they have something not easy to diagnose. Usually a college vet is more interested in learning something new or helping, but here is a link for your state with a couple of names, who you might try to contact with your pictures and a very brief description of the symptoms:

Here is one more name with possibilities at least for getting some help:

If you order the Baytril (enrofloxacin) the dosage of the 10% liquid is 0.05 ml per pound. given orally twice a day for 5-6 days. It tastes too bad too add to the water. That would be 0.1 ml for 2 pounds, 0.15 ml for 3 pounds, and 0.2 ml for 4 pounds. I ordered some recently from this company (100 ml of 10% enrofloxacin or Baytril) and it was $23 and with shipping and tax, was only $31:

Thank you so much I may try this. I did get an antibiotic from a vet, he said it could be a full week for improvement with so much swelling. He is taking antibiotics very well & eating on his own.

Hi, I was just wondering if your rooster is doing any better?
Thank you so much for checking. Unfortunately, he did not make it. I called the vet again Monday to try to bring him in, he assured me it would take about a week to see improvement. He does sometime that night. Unfortunately I think it was just too late by the time I got a vet involved. :(
Thank you to everyone who responded. I am very appreciative.

Oh I am sorry for your loss. I was hoping that you would get a necropsy on him if he did not make it, just to see what the illness was. It helps us to recognize illnesses to help others. I can understand if that wasn’t possible though. It is not always easy, or affordable in some states or countries.
