You will have to order Baytril online. https://allbirdproducts.com/products/baytril-10I appreciate everyone’s advice & thoughts. After doing research for 2 days straight- I believe he probably has a bacterial infection from parasites. I did bathe him again, have yet to find my Vetericyn, so I may have to run out & buy some. I’ve called all 4 of our local farm stores. None carry Baytril which after much research I believe would be best antibiotic since it’s treats both kinds of bacterial infections. Problem is looks like I’ll have to order it. I have fish mox (500 mg capsules) I’m pretty sure based on other posts I’ve been way under dosing so it’s not helping at all.
If I can’t get baytril anywhere & have to use the fish mox, I’m not sure how to give him an appropriate dosage, he’s tiny still not at his full weight, I’m pretty sure even though he’s eating the infection is causing more weight loss.
As for the Amoxicillin - get his weight. Dosage is 57mg per pound of weight given 2 times a day.
Dump out your capsule and mix it with a "known" amount of something.
For example - if you mixed 500mg of Amoxicillin with 1 teaspoon of yogurt or liverwurst, if you divided that into 4 equal "parts" that will get you really close to 125mg per 1/4 teaspoon. Make sense?
What are you feeding him? I would feed chick starter or an all flock feed. Get him on some poultry vitamins for a week too. Egg, meat or fish as a treat.
