Help! There's something red sticking out of this chick? Unabsorbed sac?

This chick just hatched a couple hours ago, it seems very weak. I'm not sure what that is, though I think it's an unabsorbed sac from what I'm reading. What can I do to help this little one? Will it live?

well i have never seen anything like that before i dont know if its yolk or not but i would guess no. it might be better to get a pic. of it on its back. i would put it in a cup/ something to restrict movement for a while. i use a washcloth rolled up and formed into a circle then tape the ends together. and maybe another one under it so it is a soft floor

can you post a better picture of the vent area? is it coming out of the vent (butt) or the abdomen (navel)?
give it sav-a-chick or nutridrench asap..

if it's from the navel: antibiotic ointment without pain reliever

if it's from the vent it may be prolapse: preparation H

If I was you I'd take it to the vet asap... they can have a proper look at it and hopefully fix it.

I'm not an expert, but it looks like it didn't absorb it's yolk properly. Did you help it hatch?
