HELP! tiny red bugs on baby silkies

Yes they did not look like what I saw. Granted, it was tiny and moving through my chicks thick fluff, but what I did see looked like the photo I posted. They are only 1 or 2 weeks old.

I would clean out the bedding, treat their brooder and them with a Permethrin based poultry dust or spray.

Um since the chicks are pets, I often bring them in my room to cuddle. Do I need to spray my room and clean it too?

Do you yourself ever get to itching in bed at night?

I think you need to figure out what type of bug they are. Until you do, I would not bring them inside because I've read that it's very hard to get rid of bed bugs in your house. Hopefully they are just mites.

No. Just during the day. I've never actually brought them on the bed

I've read that poultry workers can bring them into their house on clothing, so please do try to figure out what they are.

Are they fast moving or slow? More than likely, they are lice, but could be mites. Lice move quickly while mites move slowly.
