Could anyone tell me what these white patches are on my silkie hen's face? It's on each side of her face and on top of her head. She acts fine, I don't see any bugs, ant it's not crusty or even that lumped up but it definitely doesn't look normal.

No not really. Seems pretty smooth and I don't feel any crust or heatIs it swollen?
Could be just a loss of pigments, she's not pure silkie, so that happens. No she has the blueish earlobes. These white patches are in front like in her cheeks, between the earlobe and wattle. And on top of her head behind the comb
It's bald skin where feathers are missing.. possibly someone was plucking or grooming her, since there's no sign of parasites.Could anyone tell me what these white patches are on my silkie hen's face? When i first read your comment i was like "she is pure silkie, i got her from a breeder" and she don't have her huge poof because it's been trimmed and she had just been dust bathing. But then i went outside to take an even closer look at her and now i think you are right! Under her chin, in between her wattles, is white as well and all over her body is not as black as my other silkies.Could be just a loss of pigments, she's not pure silkie, so that happens.
No no sign of parasites. I'm always checking constantly with a magnify glass cuz I've dealt with lice in the past. It's bald skin where feathers are missing.. possibly someone was plucking or grooming her, since there's no sign of parasites.
Having bred Silkies in the past.. sounds more like a quality issue than a purity one. Show, pet, breeding being the 3 quality levels I'm familiar with. When i first read your comment i was like "she is pure silkie, i got her from a breeder" and she don't have her huge poof because it's been trimmed and she had just been dust bathing.
