Help to understand failed hatch

Do a dry run with your incubator and therm/ hygrometer. Let it run for a day or two without eggs to get everything set. Make sure the eggs you want to incubate are less than a week old for best results. I lay my eggs flat with small end pointing towards center of bator (no reason, just how I do it). Keep temp at 99.5 and humidity between 35-45 first 18 days, then between 65-75 for lock down. For turning, I mark my eggs ‘L’ ‘M’ ‘R’ (left, middle, right), I turn them 4 times a day, (7am, 12pm, 5pm, 10pm) in ONE direction, next day I go in the other direction. I've tried using egg cartons and tipping them back and forth. I like that method more than my turner until I can get a different one.

My egg turners have always been fine. Normally it's temperature that can throw it off. OH, when you get the incubator holding temperature correctly, then add the eggs, expect it to take at least a day to get the eggs warmed up all the way through. Don't go adjusting it yet, because it says it's too cold. I made that mistake on my first hatch.

Did you see a change in humidity as well? I mentioned waiting for things to settle a day or two before I adjusted humidity/temp after setting eggs and someone told me not to do that. Everything worked out though

After adding the eggs, I didn't adjust the temp, or humidity for at least 24 hours.
