They probably are red mites but we have not seen pictures. Mites do cause skin and feather issues--still agree to dump the DE

I have one rooster and his skin is more red than any of the girls.

elector is great but expensive. It persists (keeps killing) for two weeks if not in direct sunlight. It works when mites are not killed by normal methods
