Help I've been incubating my duck egg and its been growing until a few days ago I candled it on day twenty nine and he wasn't moving! Somebody told me that it was because he was growing too big so it was hard for him to move but then before I went into lockdown I candled him and he was smelling a little bit again he wasn't moving but he seemed to grow a bit please help he's the only egg I have!

You do know it takes about 35 days for Muscovy's to hatch? and when they get closer to hatch day they have grown to the point where they take up most of the shell and don't move much at all. if you smelled something off then there is a possibility something is wrong. Try and wait it out hopefully you'll see so pipping today. when they internally pip you should begin to hear peeping then watch for the external pip that will let you know he's working on getting out of the egg.

It hasn't been peeping but I THINK the egg was rocking a bit. Today is day 31 lockdown time!

It doesn't smell that bad just a little tiny bit but there is no weird coloring on the shell that shows its rotten or quit

That's good, then hopefully you'll begin to see some hatching here soon, keep us posted. make sure to keep your humidity up and don't open the bator . If you see rocking again start talking or singing to the egg you just may get to hear it talking back to you[but in a good way]

okay thank you! right before I went into lockdown I smelled it one more time ( sorry that sounds weird) and guess what it didn't smell! must have been my imagination. but their is still no peeping or rocking anymore
should I be worried?

When you candled could you see the air sac? was it tilted? So hard to say about rocking or peeping, especially rocking since my ducklings are hatched by ducks I don't get to see that part, but sometimes when it gets to hatch day I will take an egg out and check it out and see a pip and hear peeping. I think I would be concerned but what day are you on now?
