HI folks! Thanks to all for your warm welcomes & kind notes! I'm so very excited and honored to be welcomed aboard the Mod Squad! I've got lots to learn before I can be a contributing mod, but as I go through my learning curve, I've got MANY excellent resources to help in the BYC staff!
I've had several PMs from folks asking to know a little more about me. So...here you go!
I'm 44, soon to be 45 (Tuesday), I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 35-40 chickens, an awesome husband (we've been together 23 years), 3 dogs (two Great Danes and a Bouvier), a few cats, two mini donkeys and three horses. WHEW! I work full time at a foundation as a proofreader/editor. So, my critter endeavors take up the rest of my time outside of work. No kids...we wanted some, but it just didn't work out. We live on 10+ acres which isn't set up that well for chickens, but hubby has done a lot to get things in shape for my chicken addiction, which began in '07. Like lots of folks on here, I began with a few chooks from a hatchery, but then I found BYC. It was a battle to decide what I wanted after that! I love them all, and have been known to spend hours just watching them free range (which they do not get to do often, as we have lots of predators here). I'm born & raised in Iowa, but have been in Michigan for 14 years.
