Knowing ‘when’ is such a fine line. But helping remotely is tough too. I would open it enough just to peek inside. I wouldn’t remove very much of the shell covering the air cell just yet.

Ok WVduckchicks....I stopped!! I dabbed a little vaseline on membrane and blood vessels lit up.
What does this mean?
Ok, thanks. Do I need to change temp now that theres a big hole in shell?? Also, does the membrane look ok since its wrinkled? I just dont want her to suffocate (obviously) Thanks so much for EverythingThat’s still a good bit of veins, so it’s not ready yet. Just oil up as much of the membrane that you can reach with the q-tip back inside there. Just a thin coat, not globby. And let it rest a while longer.
I don't see any tears but see something black pushing up. Cant tell what it is Doesnt really feel hard
Sounds good, thanks. I think I Possibly felt a bill, or a foot, but was more firm than anything else. I was scared to touch too much. I guess I was expecting an orange bill.....but what I felt that was firm was more black. This is a Welsh Harlequin / Pekin mix, so we'll see.ok there are still some pretty good veins which need to recede, so just keep the membrane moist and watch for those veins to start to disappear.
Well, nevermind, neither their feet, nor their beak are black as a newborn so, heck, I dont know what I see. I better get some rest.Sounds good, thanks.
