HELP! VERY WOBLEY NEWBORN DUCKY 1 1/2 DAYS OLD

My typo too
“The fact she isn’t getting worse “
Oh boy I need to pre read before I hit done lol
Hopefully she will get better in time. Of it’s a vitamin issue she should
If it’s a birth issue itself only time will tell
She came out without her yolk absorbed all of the way. She absorbed it in the incubator. I think that hast to do with it and she's a big bird too. She was the biggest egg.

She still isn't improving at all. She wants to walk and run and do all of the duck things and she can't at all. She isn't getting any worse. I may have to put her to sleep. I am hand feeding her every 2-4 hours and she just isn't thriving. I won't watch it suffer. It is so so sad. worst part of this hobby. I do love animals.

I feel for you
I just went through this with my little guy
Although mine had a bent neck bone that we couldn’t fix
I spent 4 weeks getting up every 2-3 hours through the night and all day to feed and water baby. I helped him swim , preen , walk and stand
We made improvements then he had a growth Spurt and lost all we had gained
I am still heartbroken as he became my little sidekick.
I kept hoping everyday it would get better and it just wasn’t enough to give him quality of life of a duck
Mine was the same as yours the heart and mind were full and wanted it but the body and function was not there
Nobody can tell you when it’s time to stop trying
We will be here no matter what you decide

It's more work thank a human baby. I love her and I so desperately want her to have a good life. Sometimes things go wrong during hatch and God has other plans for the little duckies. I won't let her waste away. That is inhumane and I simply can't do it. Especially not to a baby bird. So sorry about your buddy! Truly it is heart breaking.

Did you have to put your little ducky to sleep? I have a little duckling that was very weak and not growing right and would move oddly. Thanks to several people helping on BYC I was able to nurse her back to health. I had basically convinced myself she would not make it....but I didn't stop trying. Her heart and mind were strong and she had a will to live, but her body was just so weak and helpless. After hours and hours and weeks of care, I am happy to say she was able to go back out into the brooder in our garage instead of in my room. No matter what you need to do, we support you. Thank you for trying to save this little baby that I know many people would not bother with. You truly are amazing! :hugs

I’m so happy you were able to get your baby back to health
I did everything possible and had some great support from BYC especially @DuckyDonna and @Miss Lydia
With my situation my little guy had neck bone issues that were never going to fix
I had 700 in vet bills as well as I took him to a guy who works on my back and neck
He did a few treatments on him
We did get his neck bone from the side to align from the back up and his crop to go from the side to the front
But the bend on the right side of his neck bone was a growth issues and couldn’t be fixed
I would have kept him going forever to be honest but I had to do what’s right for him as living in a crate was not a life for a duck
I’m hoping the OP can see more progress but I also understand at some point it’s time to let go
We truly have a great community on here

I feel terrible if I do have to put her down. I am going to let the vet take a look. she has no muscle control and can only walk wobbly for a few steps and then she plops over.

It is time. She is suffering so bad and if she doesn't pass during the night I will certainly let the vet do it. I feel terrible.
