Help wanted - Quail missing leg!!

:hugs I’m really not sure if there’s anything I can give him for pain
Metacam or Meloxicam, both are pain relievers and anti-inflammatory. Both require a vet script, though. Children's aspirin can be used but can also induce bleeding...not a good thing for an open wound.

X2

I've heard about the children's asprin in the water. However, I don't know the effect, so I can't recommend or disapprove of it with my opinions. Seems like a bleeding open wound wouldn't be good.

Well now I feel bad :hmm It is pretty awful for me to try to keep them alive- because that’s literally all I’m doing. I can’t make them normal or not hurt. Soooo I will make a final decision tomorrow.
Aww, don't feel bad. You are doing what you think is best for your birds.

Would Poultry Nutri-Drench in their water be helpful to any extent?
Wouldn't hurt but at the same time won't have any benefical healing effects on the birds. The molasses in the Nutri-Drench may help with keeping the blood glucose levels up. :idunno haven't ever used it for an open wound trauma.
I had a newly hatch Amherst chick get caught in the fan of the foam bator I was using, nearly severed it's leg at the hock. I amputated it, bandaged it up and it healed up. I use Nutri-Drench anyway on new hatchlings. It never acted like it didn't have two legs. It didn't survive due to a Reeves chick killing it but it survived for 3 months just fine, eating drinking, pooping all normal....but it did have a 'stump' it could use to balance with...unlike yours that doesn't have even a stump.
