Looking for advice: We have a weak legbar chick. It pipped on day 24 (the rest of the chicks hatched on 21). We ended up helping him zip after 36 hours because there was no change and it's membrane became very dry. It hatched the rest of the way on its own about 24 hours ago. It is fully dried off but doesnt seem to be transitioning to being more and more alert. It does lift its head and has moved around but it mostly just lies there.

We just gave it a little electrolyte water but it has no interest in eating any egg yolk.

Should we leave it in the incubator? I don't want to out it with the other chicks because they'll stomp it. Should I continue with the electrolytes? Thanks!

Hmm, I am no expert but I imagine that the poor chick is very, very tired. As of right now I would leave it in the incubator until some experts drop by and tell you what will be best, I'll tag some experts:

Do you have any Nutri-Drench or Sav-A-Chick on hand? If it was just 24 hrs ago, it still has a bit of its yolk reserve left. Are you sure that it absorbed its yolk properly?

I would take him out and put him in a bowl with some old rags and give him some electrolytes and keep him warm under the heat lamp and just keep a close eye on him I hope he’s ok
