Help! Weak chicken.

Hey there,
I have a polish pullet that’s gone really thin and weak. What could I do. I went in the coop today and found one of the roosters dying. Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll be able to make it. But I think I can do something about the hen. What can I do?

You need to assess what the problem is. But first, bring her to a warm, calm environment. There are many things that can cause her to go thin and weak. Do you know her laying status? Is she eating, pooping, preening? What does her poop look like? Can you check her over for external parasites? Do you know if her crop is emptying overnight?

I will tell you this: do not get her wet; it could kill her.

Edited to add: If her crop isn’t over full, please offer her fluid. You might need to coax her to drink.
