So the eggs didnt have shells and just membrane holding it in?

It did have a shell but it was thin and frail

hmmm. Sounds like its just them molting. Its happened a few times to me as well. It could also be a lack of calcium.

If one of your birds is molting it is likely that birds egg. But you can feed the black soldier fly grubs to all of them. They are very nutritional.

Is it a soft egg? If she is molting then that can happen. Several of my girls laid one or two soft eggs while molting.
I've found that BSFL are AMAZING for molting chickens. And helped my hens a lot.
I use value grubs brand from amazon. 22$ for a four pound bag.

Some hens will stop laying during molt. But not all of them.

Yeah they can sometimes but not always. I mostly had just small eggs, no eggs, or shell less eggs when mine molted this year.
