hi,

So my pictures aren’t the greatest, the chicks are so quick and they don’t like sitting still (go figure), but wondered if anyone could help me with the sex.

Image 1. My Wyandotte (comb is getting red and wattles, assuming rooster)
Image 2. The big Ameraucana
Image 3. Ameraucana
Image 4. Brahma

Thanks everyone!

1. Definitely a boy. He's already getting wattles, and his lacing's really messy.
2. I'm thinking that big girl's a pullet. No idea about short-stuff, though.
3. Boy?? The slow feathering and the colouration are making me think boy, but flipping a coin might be more accurate.
4. No idea. Brahmas are a slow-maturing breed, in any case.

Try again in a few weeks, I think? They're a little young, yet.

Yeah I probably should have waited a couple weeks to even attempt. I just feel like they’re getting so big so quick someone might have known. I am excited. Thanks for your help! I was sure that the Wyandotte was a roo, he’s a crazy guy too lol but so pretty!!

pic one is a Cock, pic 2 are pullets, pic 3 is a cock, and brahma is to young...(these are just my opinions..not 1000% accurate)

Thanks! That’s kind of what I was thinking as well. I guess I haven’t done enough research on Brahmas just yet, I will have to pull out the books! :) I didn’t know they matured slower! Thank you again.

The Wyandotte is a cockerel. The Easter Eggers (NOT Ameraucana) appear to be pullets at this point. Brahmas are very slow to develop. Not gonna be able to sex that one till it's over 10 weeks.

Thanks! The wyandotte is so beautiful, I was hoping for a pullet but either way I love him.

How can you tell the difference between an Easter egger and ameraucana? My local feed store had them labeled as ameraucana, but then again they told me some of my bantams were silkies and I’m pretty sure they aren’t lol.
