Help! what do i do about leg bands irritating my faverolles?

i have three faverolle hens and i put leg bands on them a few weeks ago because i need to identify which are which. i made sure that they were loose but i just noticed that some of the feathers on one of my hens leg is bloody. its not much blood but im still concerned. im taking the tag off now but im still not sure what to do cause i still need her to have a tag. please help!

Can you mark them another way? like dab some non toxic water colors on them somewhere?

Have you discovered a method of tagging your hens? I also want to tag some of my hens and would be interested to know your method.
