Thanks! This makes me feel a little better. I am setting the eggs tonight and we will see what happens. I have to disagree about the shipping being the carrier's fault, though...... LCGBF was in the middle of the same winter storm that we were going through.... They knew what the temps and road conditions were before they shipped. I just feel like they were irresponsible overall and will not be ordering from them in the future, regardless of the outcome of this hatch.

If Lake Cumberland and Strombergs go us BYC'ers can tap into some money...

Strombergs I am not a fan of....Lake Cumberland, I don't like their customer service, but the eggs are nice and birds are too.

I agree 100%
You may have to wait some time before your eggs get shipped, but they should be fresh. Unlike others, they produce all their eggs on their farm, and do not use 3rd. parties. It sounds like the carrier (I think they use UPS now) is the fault here.

They get a low mark from me on communication skills, but 100% on the good stock scale.

Defiantly set them. You will be glad you did!

THIS SOUNDS LIKE CHICKEN LITTLE SYNDROME FROM A SUPPLY FARM POINT OF VIEW... THINK ABOUT IT, USPS RUNS 6 DAYS A WEEK, UPS 7 DAYS A WEEK AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO SHIP QUICKLY DISPITE ANY AND ALL OUTLYING DIFFICULTIES, THATS WHAT THEY DO, WHAT THEY ARE PAID TO DO, AND WHAT THEY CLAIM... FROM THE FARM POINT OF VIEW IF WE WAIT TIL WE HAVE A 7 DAY WINDOW OF BEUTIFUL SUMMER DAYS WITHOUT A CLOUD IN THE SKY THEN THEY WOULD HARDLY EVER BE ABLE TO SELL ANY EGGS... THE EGGS COME WETHER THEY ARE SOLD OR NOT, BUT IN A CERTAIN QUANTITY... IF THEY ARE ONLY SHIPPED IN THESE IDEAL CONDITIONS THE FARM WOULD BE OUT OF BUSSINESS AND BURIED UNDER A PILE OF ROTTEN EGGS... AS A BUYER IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT WEATHER AND INTERUPTIONS IN SHIPPING DONT BUY AT THAT TIME... ITS NOT LIKE THESE WERE A LIMITED TIME AUCTION... LCGBF SELL COTURNIX YEAR ROUND. I HAVE MANY BUYERS CONTACT ME AND INQUIRE ABOUT SALES BUT STATE THEY WANT TO HOLD OFF UNTIL SPRING TO ACTUALLY MAKE AN ORDER...

When I ordered, I THOUGHT they would be shipping that week, and at the time the weather was fine........ It was over 3 weeks before they shipped and I tried numerous times to call them and delay the order when I saw what type of weather was moving in. Had they returned my call or answered the phone all of this could have been avoided....... I say again, This was my first and last order from them regardless of hatch rate.

I Git It Now... Yeah That Goes Back To The Whole Lack Of Communication Thing With Them. Wished I Had Known We Could Have Gave You A Friendly Warning About That... Unfortunately They Just Fill Orders And Ship... I Have Never Heard Of Them Answering Phones Or Email. Not Taking Up For Them, But Thats Apparently The Way They Do Business... Seems Flawed To Me As Well. But It Seems To Be Working For Them. Can You Imagine How Good They Would Be If They Did Have Customer Service? They Would On Top Of The Large Supplier World Around Here If That Were The Case. I Know This Is A Silly Question, But Have You Tried To Complain? (not Sure How You Would? )

Complain??? Why, that's what I'm doing here! LOL I figured it wouldn't do me any good, they wouldn't answer the FIRST 20 phone calls, why would they answer #21? Oh well, they are in the bator so we will see what happens! Wish me luck!! LOL

All of these different corporations offering shipping service and they all SUCK WIND! it's a said fact to admit snail mail is superior to all the rest. I stopped using UPS as primary when they stopped caring about customer service and started pushing volume to induce growth ini order to justify bonuses. Airborne, now DHL could not help from losing packages consistently as theta sub out yellow truck drivers, pay them 8 bucks and hour, treat them like dogs, and expect them to care. Fedex was good but cost prohibitive, however they can and will get it there, cost are getting lower as they are expanding their shipping operations alongside small municipal airports....very clever, and their cost are getting better. Even all this being true, no one can beat the reliability of USPS. Sad fact, IMHO...lol
