So these two chickens are 5 months old. One is more of orange in color with beautiful black lace pattern Eggy. And the other is rather reddish , Goldy. Goldy was yellow at birth. Eggy was a chipmunk color. We hatched them out of eggs my husband's client gave him, but he is not sure of the breed. He mentioned "indio", but this breed is used in South America for games and is much bigger ..unless is a crossbreed. It was a science project with my kids on building an incubator. Out of 7 fertile eggs we hatched just two. These two babies. We love them ! they are smart and cuddly and eat anything, like pigs! We added to them two silkies, a plymouth rock, and a RIR. The PR and RIR are pullets (I bought them for pullets). I don't know the gender of the silkies either! What do you think I have for a breed and gender on Goldy , Eggy and the silkies? Thanks 😊

They look to be Buckeye / game/ RIR mixes. I would expect light tan eggs.

So you think they are girls? Yey! I told my husband by 5 months they have to be more manly looking if boys, haha. Do they lay alright? How about the silkies?
Thank you Songster!

It depends on the cross. But they won‘t be too shabby. The silkies? Nothing screams male.
Glad to be of help!
