Help..what is it.

Had a 2 month old chick with lots of raised lumpy scabby things in its head
and eventually died. Now another has started anyone any ideas what it is and what to do.Thank you

It really could be anything, I'd suggest removing any affected chickens and isolating them, Then moving the other chickens to a separate location and thoroughly cleaning the coop. I also recommend contacting a vet ASAP.

The pic you posted looks to me like it could be fowl pox. It is highly contagious. I would definitely isolate any that show signs of this disease. My chickens had a round of it last year. I ended up with 2 hens losing an eye. It's usuallly not deadly, but sometimes gets in the mouth/throat. Then it's considered wet pox and can kill them.
