Help. What is wrong with my chicks?

Make sure they get the direct full strength drench dose, and when you hydrate them use the corid water mixture that you are treating them with. I would start giving the the corid water as often as you can via dropper or syringe. For the littles I usually hold them in my hand with their beak resting in the crease of my finger, drip the liquid into the crease and it will run down to their beak and they will swallow. A little time consuming, but it works well. Sick birds often don't drink enough, you've got to get the meds into them for them to work. Corid is really safe, it would be VERY difficult to overdose them, so I would not worry about that. I don't see anything that looks like wry neck right now. Coccidiosis can cause balance and muscular issues also, symptoms can vary some. They do look very sick, I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Ok just trying to clarify, should I be giving drench AND Corid to the 2 really sick ones? I thought I shouldn’t mix the two.

As of now I did direct Corid and then additional Corid water for the really sick ones. I gave direct drench to the two uncoordinated ones and have normal water in there now.

You can do the daily oral drench, full strength, in addition to the regular water/corid mixture. It will not hurt them. The drench helps get the level of medication up in them quicker, they still need to be drinking the medicated water as well. You will not over dose them, I swear. Corid is a thiamine inhibitor/mimic that starves the coccidia out so they die, it's not an antibiotic. It really is very safe. If you give them regular water with no medication it's going to dilute the treatment and it may not be effective. If there were any risk from the Corid I would absolutely tell you. I've treated many times, zero issues.

Ok awesome I trust you. I had just heard giving them vitamins with the Corid made the Corid less effective but if that’s not the case, I think the sick ones could probably benefit greatly from the drench. Thank you so much.

I think Coach is saying to drench all 4 of them with corid, not nutri-drench. Am I right on that?

If you have given vitamins, don't freak out, just stop. Continue treatment with the corid and move on. You can worry about vitamins after treatment is complete.

Ooooh *face palm* because it’s called nutri-drench I got very confused. I have given them all nutri-drench once now. The Isbar just died in my hands so I guess it was all too late for her.

So my course of action should be to NOT give any of them nutri-drench again right now. And maybe wait until tonight and give them all another full strength oral dose of the Corid and continue with the Corid water?

What about the healthy ones?

It happens, don't beat yourself up. Correct, no nutri drench. Do the daily dose of full strength corid drench and give them the medicated corid water. For clarity, here is the dosing for the oral drench: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/corid-oral-drench-instructions.1211991/
For those not drinking, give them the corid water diring the day as often as you can until they do start drinking well. Those that are not showing symptoms should be drinking enough to just have the medicated water. I would treat them all, they have all been exposed, that way you don't have more getting sick part way through treating others. For the one you lost, depending on the strain of coccidia you have, it can progress fast, so not necessarily anything you did or did not do. Sometimes the intestinal damage is just too much for them to recover from. :hugs
