Yep, they screw right in, just like a light bulb.

I like the ceramic heat emitters better as well. The red bulbs worry me.

I think it is also unnatural to have light on all the time, so it probably stresses them out. Better to have a natural night and day.

I agree 100%.
I use a regular long life bulb for my quail that need the extra light hours. I need to put it on a timer, that'd be easier than me remembering to turn it off/on everyday/night.

I wouldn’t dare to say improvement yet but they are still alive, eating and drinking. But still breathing hard and laying down or rocking mostly. Some uncoordinated. Definitely not feeling well.

Alive is good. Poor babies. It is a long road to recover.
