Help. What is wrong with my chicks?

Yes I totally am too. I’m going to go get a measuring tape and try to wrap my mind around it. I’m just so new to chickens that then trying to picture 9 chickens under it is where I get tripped up. They would probably only need it for a month or so...I’m just trying to visualize how big they’d be and if they’d fit.
 
Yes, they do use it less as they get older, but they also grow very fast. I tend to leave mine in longer than most people, since they like getting under it. I've now fashioned a board that fits in my brooder that I put in the same place as the heat plate when it's removed, so they can still run under the board when they feel the need. They still sleep under that for a while until they start roosting, if they are still in the brooder (when they go outside depends on what part of the year I get them). Everybody has a little bit different way of doing things.

I had credit for 4 more expensive replacements but instead used it to get 9 cheaper chick breeds just in case...I’d rather have too many chickens than too few again. So I’m looking at the bigger heat plates. I’m seeing one by a brand “premier” that is for 50...
