I've seen posts referring to no shipping to a certain state because of requirments of live birds.
I cannot find that again. What state is it?

I do not what to ship them and them be refussed by the state.

A quick search of the rules in the State of Maine came up with this.

E. IMPORTATION OF POULTRY, HATCHING EGGS AND EXHIBITION OF POULTRY
1. All poultry and hatching eggs of poultry must be accompanied by a valid certificate of veterinary inspection.
2. Poultry for breeding or production and/or hatching eggs of poultry must originate from flocks and/or hatcheries have an N.P.I.P pullorum-typhoid clean rating and must be U.S. sanitation monitored.
3. Poultry for commercial breeding or production and/or hatching eggs of poultry must originate from flocks and/or hatcheries having a N.P.I.P. mycoplasma gallisepticum and mycoplasma synoviae clean rating.
4. Poultry for immediate slaughter shall be imported under permit and shall be unloaded only at the designated slaughter establishment.
5. Poultry for exhibition must originate from flocks having a N.P.I.P. pullorum typhoid clean rating.

I'm thinking that even the hatcheries can't ship to Virginia. Their Ag Laws are very strict.
Texas actually has some pretty stringent Ag Laws as well, just in case you have customers down here.

I honestly think you flat out can't ship birds to Virginia no matter what.
Texas requires a Health Certificate, AI Testing and NPIP Certification for birds that come from out of State.

I live here in Va. and yes we do have some rather ( in my opinion) dumb laws regarding poultry. Again, my opinion is this is due to lobbying by the large commercial poultry farms here. But, I have had both hatching eggs and baby chicks shipped to me with no hassle. I will do a search and see what I can find and post the results.

Yvonne, I googled state shipping restrictions and all I could find was two requirements (1) Shipper has to be NPIP certified (2) Have a state issued certification that flock is negative for mycoplasma gallisepticum ( some disease I suppose) Hope you are able to do your shipping!
