I would guess it is out of something black and something red with those markings. But the muffs are most commonly seen on Easter Eggers. However, that being said, there are some other breeds like Faverolles who also have the bearded muff, and quite possibly that is where this fellow could have gotten it. THAT being said, he has something of a pea comb which is more associated with the Easter Egger (going back to the Ameraucana blood). The boy does have stubs (short things on his leg that are trying to be feathers but not quite there), which would indicate a feather footed breed lurks in his genetic make up.

Honestly, without the breeders list of breeds they have running together, I think that is about as close as you can get. Silkie? I think not. No signs of that breed here.
