**HELP**Whats wrong with my baby? PICS!!!

Some of mine are more prone to it, which I don't worry about too much anymore because it has never escalated to sour crop. When it was first happening I consulted an avian nutritionist who said that usually it will happen once, the bird will be uncomfortable, and they will learn from their mistake and not over-eat again. Basically when you're saying your bird is a food hog, you're right. Sometimes they will continue the behavior, sometimes they won't. I make sure to always allow my girls access to grit (there is chick grit as well, for your purposes) and if I notice her swelling up I will keep her in for a day giving her soft foods for her crop to get back to normal. It isn't really a life-altering thing, don't be worried. Just make sure you watch out for sour crop.

Just looks like a very full crop, back way off on the treats, very little. I wouldn't give her any for a few days, just her chick food. It should go down by morning like Dawg Said.

PLEASE don't start treating her!!! It just looks like a full crop from eating throughout the day!!! Wait to see if it will go down. If it doesn't, then start treatment!!

Update: She seems to be all better today. Thank goodness!!!!

WELL miss Dixie apparently did NOT learn a lesson!!! This morning she was all better but I had gone to get groceries and came home and my hubby went in to check on the babies and her chest is blown up again! I will only be giving her soft food from now on.

What I think is happening, is that she is eating normally!!! It's her crop that is getting large, and that is GOOD!! It means she is eating well!
