Hi guys just started on here and I have a killer of a predicament. I have two bluebell hens that are 8 years old they have a massive run and share it with a giant rabbit and the three of them get on really well how ever two weeks ago one of my hens fell and broke her femur (upper thigh) and we have supported it as well as moved her into a pet carry case ( to restrict movement) and she has been eating and drinking and clucking like her usual self however today I went in and her comb has gone a slight white colour but it's definitely discoloured from the rest of her and I don't know what's wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi :welcome

Sorry to hear about your hen and her leg. As she has broken a bone she will be down on power and if hens are under the weather the comb can become paler. Combs are a good sign of a hens health and as she is poorly I would say that is the reason behind her comb becoming lighter. I'm sure members there will be able to offer you more advice.

Wishing you the very best of luck, I hope she heals well and is back to her old self soon :fl
