Help! Why would my ducklings disappear?

We don't know of any other ducks in the area, but there might be, if they dicided to go somewhere else would they come to their house at night?

Something spooked them and they hid under a bush being as quiet as they could.

Yay!! That's great news! Yes, they can be good hiders when they want to be. I once had a hen disappear literally for weeks before I found her under a bush where she had secretly hidden a stash of eggs and decided to sit on them. Literally WEEKS she was missing before I happened upon her.

Congrats. I'm so glad they came back and are all right!

If they disappeared during the middle of the day it was more than likely a hawk. Coyotes, foxes, raccoons etc, prefer hunting in the early morning or evenings.

Awesome! I'm glad they're back! I have been losing young chicks to hawks. They do prefer hunting in the middle of the day. 10 am - 2 pm is what I read. I came home the other day at 11:30 and found a juvenile red tailed hawk SITING ON TOP OF THE CAGE my chicks were in. I'm just relieved that I'd put them in the cage that morning instead of just letting them free range.
