Can I ask a stupid question?

Are these Amaraucanas? The first three are the same bird, by the way.

might have a few odd breeds in there, but they both look to be at least part Bearded Americana

Pardon my ignorance, but aren’t pullets of the same breed supposed to be the same color? Why are these two different colors?

They don't have to be. There are different variations of colors among the same breeds.

For example, a dalmation will have different spots than a different dalmation. Or a golden retriever may be darker or lighter than another golden retriever.


A breed of chicken will have the same general base coloration/design with some variation. It makes them unique!

In general, yes. But Easter Eggers are not a true breed with a SOP so they can come in almost any color imaginable.
