Help with BR gender....*updated pics* pg 3

This is the newest addition to our flock. My daughter is really hoping this one is a girl, we have had a hard time finding a BR hen. What do you think? About how old do you think s/he is?

S/he's a little taller than my 4 month old RIR. But body size is about the same. Are BR usually tall? Our friend said that she was a hen and probably just around laying age. Hope she's right!

Looks just like my Plymouth Barred Rock hen... I'd say yours is b/t 4 and 5 months old, IMHO.

The color and the shape say roo.....hens are darker and have smaller legs......but he is a very nice roo

i think it is a hen. i got 3 Barred Rocks and they all look like that and they are hens!!

My BR looks just like that too...I vote hen too. I don't see any maleness at all.

The coloring is on the light side, so that generally means male in barred Rocks.

The body type looks male.

The tail looks male too, take a better picture of its tail feathers, they look rooster ish.

Generally in breeds like Rocks, when you see tails like that, where there isn't much, it is a male.

Speckledhen, you have barred Rocks... where are you? What do you think?
