Help with Brinsea octagon air vent please

hello, i always try to find the answer to my question on here before starting a new thread, but i can not seem to find out what is going on anywhere...

ok, so i got a new brines octagon eco 20 ... it's great... BUT

for the life of me i can not open the air vent. i have tried very hard. i don't want to break the thing. now, i am either very dumb and not doing something right (though i can't see how) OR i may have gotten a faulty unit. in any even i can not open the air vent no matter how hard i try and i can't find anything about it online. can anyone help me out? please?

I don't have a Brinsea 'bator (I wish I did though!!!), but this might help:

yea, I checked there. thank you. after not finding anything, i just called brines. apparently they had a bad batch that were doing this. i am waiting for a supervisor to call back, but i think they are going to send me a new one. they better! paying that kind of money for incubator it sure as heck better work perfectly!
