Help with farm innovators 4250 pro series incubator?

Hello everyone,

I just bought an egg incubator (model in the title), and I was wondering what the item in the picture is? it came with it and fits into a slot for where an egg should go, but I don't see the purpose of this. Is it important to cover one?

I believe it’s meant to cover the spot in the egg turner that’s closest to the motor? (Because it might fry)

FWIW I had an extra egg i put in that spot 10 days after all the rest .... and it hatched. So

Yes that's what it's for
