Help with Genesis 1588 please . . .

I think you are right about it being a bad unit . . . I would like to try to set it right before I drive in and take it back ut I don't understand these !@##$ instructions. I am going to scream very soon. Katy said turn it off then turn on 5. Do I understand that right? No first you said unplug it. The instructions say nothing about unplugging and a lot about toggling and 5678. I DON"T UNDERSTAND!!!

You need to unplug the unit, then turn the #4 toggle switch to the off position. Then turn which ever higher number (I'd start with 5 or 6) toggle switch on. ..then plug it back in. Wait 30 minutes and then check the temp.

76 degrees isn't far over room temp, so in my estimation, your eggs have just been "resting" at room temp prior to going in the incubator.
Pack that bugger up in it's original box, grab that receipt and go girl, before TSC closes up for the night!
Mother hens aren't always calm either, so all will be well.
~~~I'm sending you Momma Hen Vibes~~~
Think fuzzy butts and all will be fine.
If they've really only been at 76 degrees I'd take them out and put them in a carton for right now. If it hasn't warmed up any in 30 minutes I'd agree you've got a bad unit. You do need to get you a digital thermometer tho.....makes it much easier.
Yup, Just set them in egg cartons and place a towel over them while you work on the bator.
I thought one of mine wasn't working right once and they (customer service at GQF) said in order for it to reset itself you had to have all the toggle switches off before switching on another...hopefully it'll start warming up for you.
